Dr. Éva Kahán Foundation
Fundamental democratic values such as minority rights, access to education and the right to artistic freedom played important roles in Dr. Éva Kahán’s life. The Dr. Éva Kahán Foundation cherishes her memory by promoting the values represented by her.
The Dr. Éva Kahán Foundation is a public benefit foundation established in memory of the life of Dr. Éva Kahán by her family in 2015 using the financial funds of the family’s private assets.
The foundation’s activities include:
Supporting the university studies of socially disadvantaged students in Hungary by providing academic scholarships and tuition fee grants.
Supporting artists and their creative work in Kahán Art Spaces Vienna and Budapest.
In Budapest, we support young Central Eastern European artists at the beginning of their career while in Vienna, we focus on art concerning current social, economic and political topics.
Furthermore, the foundation regularly hosts artists in Tuscany as part of its own Kahán Artists in Residence Programme.
Participants of any Dr. Éva Kahán Foundation programmes are required to respect human rights, especially minority rights, and the freedom of art.
